Ethnic Diversity and Firm Performance in Norway

Ethnic diversity has received increased research attention in Nordic countries; however, only a fewstudies have looked at it from the perspective of firms. In this study, we analyze whether changesin ethnic among staff and management affect firm performance. We also test whetherproductivity gains are due to immigrants being hired low-paying jobs by analyzinghow association between productivity is affected immigrants’ positions firms’wage distributions. Our results suggest positive relationship changes diversitywithin firms productivity. The strengthens if more higher up their wage distribution. This suggests that our not driven hire positions. Possible mechanisms increase through include wider recruitment activation diversified humancapital inclusive policies.
